Deaf since birth, Malia has learned to improvise, adapt and overcome. With the help of cochlear implant and other technologies, she is able to straddle the hearing and deaf worlds. Malia’s deafness opens her energies to many different aspects of the body and she brings her unique style to massage therapy. She is trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Myofascial Release (MFR), Craniosacral, gua sha, tuning fork therapy and cupping. Additionally, she is certified in Emotion Code and a Reiki Master practitioner.

Malia strives to tune into her client’s body and get to the root cause of their issues. Using a combination of different modalities, she will help you increase your sense of relaxation and walk away feeling good about your well-being. As the owner of Healing Sense Massage, Malia wants to give local residents of Black Mountain and visiting travelers a place they can come to and find the relaxation as well as body rejuvenation needed in this fast paced world.
